The Author

Aaron Ran

Aaron Ran is Senior Architect at IBM, awarded Distinguished Architect at The Open Group. In his nearly 20 years career with IBM, he engaged in the informationization transformation and innovation of many critical systems worldwide, which also allowed him to travel to nearly 60 countries for his social study.

Besides information technology, he is particularly passionate about culture, history, and political studies, and he actively participated in online political communities.

Micro Democracy is the synthesis of his technical expertise and his deep belief in the transformative potential of networked, participatory governance for the 21st century.
